You may not have heard of us, as we work on behalf of a broad range civil society organisations, but Crisis Action is at the forefront of global advocacy to protect civilians from armed conflict. Crisis Action enables civil society to respond more effectively to international conflict by catalyzing and coordinating strategic joint campaigns by our civil society partners.
We are currently recruiting a campaigns and research intern for our MENA hub in Beirut.
The post will involve a range of duties including:
- Proof-reading translated English to Arabic translations and doing short translations from English to Arabic and Arabic to English;
- Researching regional conflict situations;
- Coordinating work with Crisis Action’s seven other international offices;
- Monitoring regional media outlets and social media channels;
- Administrative tasks such as maintaining contact lists, databases and the Arabic language website.
The candidate must demonstrate:
- Fluency in English and Arabic coupled with translation and proof-reading skills;
- Superior organizational, writing and communication skills;
- Demonstrable interest in international affairs
- Proven admin and IT skills;
- An easy-going personality capable of working in tight-knit global teams
